Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Keiko ("the Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms.

1. The Service

Keiko is a browser-based Japanese typing practice service for language learners. Some features may require signing in; some content may be offered as paid features in the future.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Please choose a nickname that does not infringe on others' rights or violate public decency.

3. Prohibited conduct

  • Interfering with the operation of the Service or other users' use of it.
  • Cheating, automated play, or manipulating scores and rankings.
  • Unauthorized copying, redistribution, or scraping of the Service's content.
  • Any activity that violates applicable laws.

4. Paid plans (Keiko PRO)

  • Some courses are offered as Keiko PRO, available as a monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Current prices are shown on the pricing page and in the legally required commercial disclosure.
  • Payments are processed by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, LLC, which handles checkout, receipts, and applicable taxes. We do not receive or store your card details.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel at any time via the link in your purchase receipt; access continues until the end of the paid period.
  • All sales are final. Because Keiko PRO is digital content with immediate access, all payments — monthly subscription and one-time lifetime — are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law. Canceling a subscription stops future charges but does not refund payments already made. As our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy may also apply its own buyer terms.

5. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that stored records will never be lost. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the Service.

6. Changes and termination

We may modify, suspend, or terminate the Service or these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising in connection with the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the operator's location.
